Fall Field Trips will be Tuesdays – Fridays March 24 thru July 31, 2015!
We host field trips at 4 different time periods each morning — 9:30, 10:00, 10:30 and 11:00. They are by reservation only!
Students are welcome to bring a lunch and enjoy their picnic here on the farm before going back to the classroom.
We’re a working farm — so remember to dress like a farmer would! Comfy shoes, a hat for sunny days, and maybe yer overalls?!
We take a lot of down-home pride in our field Trips:
The animal barn at the farm is a great hands-on learning experience for students! They will be able to feed (or watch the feeding of) calves, ducks, goats, sheep and/or pigs, depending on the time of their tour.
Our old-fashioned hayride takes students on a tour of the farm, and makes a great venue for staging the herding demonstrations that we are so well known for! Watch Oak and Tib busy herding different groups of farm animals, and then get to meet our star attractions in person.
Fall field trips will include some pumpkin picking! A trip thru the corn maze is an additional $7 per person.
Cagle’s Dairy was a full milk processing center until recent years, so we will share our history on the farm tour with dairy cow milking demonstrations!
After your field trip, let students work off some energy on our Jumpee Pillow … Whoopee! Before or after your trip, we have fun, educational resources to incorporate the farm into your classroom learning.
Post your favorite candid shots or videos of kids or cows on our Facebook page! Or post a collection of photos to your own FlickR, Picasa or YouTube account and send us the link!
