A boy and his dog

October 14, 2011

Here’s little Clay Cagle and his dog named Oak, one of the herding dogs at Cagle’s Family Farm.  Both the dogs and little Clay do their fair share of work around the farm – mostly outdoors.  We caught them taking a break in the pasture.

The school tours had already ended for the day, and we (all us farm animals)  knew our work day was over….  The cows enjoy lazy afternoons, which you can see they  challenged Clay and Oak into a starring contest.  It is not often that a nearly 2-year old Clay sits still.  Just like any young tot – they are always busy, busy which is why we just love capturing this moment of Clay ‘relaxing’ on the beautiful fall afternoon. But this ole’ gal needs her rest – so Oak and Clay were nice enough to go play elsewhere on the farm.  They headed over to the goats – they knew those ‘kids’ were much more playful than I!

Farm-goers can see Oak and the herding dogs at work on the Farm Fresh Ag-ventures.  From March till mid-November we host Ag-venture farm tours on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays at 10am — by reservation!  To learn more on the Farm Ag-ventures, read on…
